Meeting Minutes January 20, 2004

Discussion of projects and use of money:

Consensus: Purchase of brand new Force 12 5 band antenna
Fred Kleber to contact Texas Tower to negotiate possible purchase Force
12 5BA antenna. Will purchase upon final negotiation. Budget to cover cost
of antenna and any freight/sales tax/etc. related to the purchase.

Table #4; presentation table for both FAU and BRARA
Banners for both clubs will be put up
Both Clubs will be represented at the table through pictures and people
manning the table
Website information sheet to distribute - prepared by Sjaak
Mention the 40th anniversary of FAU club

Rudy (BRARA) and Sjaak (FAU) - coordinators for Field Day

(Rudy's wife works for Subway and will be contributing a 6-foot sub for lunch)
Field Day is June 26 - 27, 2004
Want to have 3 Alphas - 2 voice and 1 CW; plus a GOTA station
"Big on party, low on radios" is the theme
Location: Rope Course
Discuss use of Rope Course with Rosemary - (Hank)
Hamster will be there
Need to work on spare antennas - be prepared.
2-3 towers to set up
Additional discussion and preparation to continue
More advertisement on campus to generate interest with more students. Need
to advertise Field Day in order to possibly draw more attention to the Club
with the student body. (It was noted that BRARA was advertising in ham radio
magazine.)

Meeting adjourned after comments from Hank (N3HV) about calendar events noted
from the ARES meeting held 1/19/2004.
